IB Primary (Gr. JK - 6)
The Primary Years Programme: Preparing students to be active participants in a lifelong journey of learning.
What is the Primary Years Programme?
The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) is a curriculum framework designed for students aged 4 to 12. It focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. It is defined by six
transdisciplinary themes of global significance, explored using knowledge and skills derived from six subject areas, with a powerful emphasis on inquiry-based learning.

What are the benefits of the PYP?
The PYP is a transformative experience for students, teachers and whole school communities. PYP students learn how to take control of their learning, teachers collaborate to deepen student- learning and increase their confidence and self-motivation. The whole school community, including parents, are viewed as partners in learning, and actively contribute to a holistic educational experience.

PYP Exhibition
In the final year of the Primary Years Programme, students, carry out an extended, in-depth, collaborative project known as the PYP exhibition. This involves students working collaboratively to conduct an in-depth inquiry into real life issues or problems.
